WHALING/MARINE ARTEFACTS WANTED

Suggested list of any old/ disused/scrap items required or any other item you may consider to donate for our school children and tourists to experience
 
Any of the following unused items will be welcome irrespective of their condition or size:

 

1.	Anchors
2.	Propellers
3.	Boat i.e. crayfish bakkie, life raft, whaler boat, long boat, life boat and oars if possible
4.	Flags of any description not being used due to its condition
5.	Flagpole and ropes halyards of any description
6.	Maritime or Marine Record Books that can be parted with
7.	Photos of Maritime or Marine background
8.	Radio Intercom/Speaker Equipment not being utilized.
9.	Timber/Trusses from boats or Sleepers for Arts & Crafts manufacturing
10.	Anything in line of Fossil Bones of Whales and Skeletons or part thereof
11.	Marine Artifacts
12.	Portholes, Steering Wheels, Compasses/Binnacles/Telegraphs/Morse Codes Equipment
13.	Flare guns
14.	Whale Head or Vertebra or parts thereof-any condition
15.	Please advise us of any scrapping of Boats
16.	Old Ship Lamps
17.	Canning Equipment for fish or other
18.	Whale Gun/Blubber Pot or Implements relating thereto
19.	Old Relics relating to Whaling and Hand Harpoons/Spears etc
20.	Old Signs, e.g. Name of Company, in metal/canvas or cane
21.	Whale/Megalodon Shark Teeth excavated during diamond operations or discovered
22.	Sea Shells
23.	Glass/Plastic or Cork Floats
24.	Marine Salvage Artifacts from historical boats i.e. bottles/saucers/spoons/guns/timber etc.
25.	Furniture-Desks/Tables/Filing Cabinets/Chairs/Computers that can be refurbished
26.	Rope
27.	Any unused fishing rods and reels
28.	Other which you may consider not listed.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION
 
We will appreciate a short history and photo of the individual/company donating any item. The item exhibited requires some history. Without this it really is a guessing game and this will be historically unfair towards schools and tourist visiting.
 
The general idea is to create a Holistic History of the West/East Coast within our Museum and ensure naming rights are attached to various exhibition stands, educational disciplines and or other components in the museum.
