Chief Executive Officer - Advisory Board Member
Matriculated at Cape Technikon he has a Diploma in Public Administration and is an Associate Member of the SA Institute of Public Administration. He has extensive experience in the fields of marine conservation and the protection of whales. He has served as an International Whaling Observer, Whaling and Fisheries Inspector, Whaling Adviser and Journalist/Reporter on whaling issues.

   

Beverly Lakay
Executive Director - Education/Public Relations/Talent Development
Advisory Board Member Matriculated at Bridgetown High School and completed her education at Battswood Training College prior to taking up a Teaching position at Harvester Primary, Mitchell's Plain, Cape. Achieved 2 teaching merit awards. Since taking early retirement she is now joint owner of an Outdoor Power tool Retail, Repair and Service Centre and a Director / Shareholder in other businesses.

   

Harry Chaterton Butler
Director - Mechanical Engineering
Business man and owner of companies in the motor vehicle trade and race horses. Married and has a son and daughter. Wife, artist in many disciplines.

   

Laynne Stedan Botes
Director - Project Specialist - Advisory Board Member
Matriculated at Nassau High School. Qualifications: (Pr.Tech Eng) ECSA 200370128, (Pr.Tech.Arch.) SACAPSA TO563 MIPET (2748) and NHBRC (1919). He is married and has a adult son and daughter. Owner of various businesses i.e. Noordwes Glass, Civil Engineering, construction and design, aluminum and glass company, property valuator for financial institutions etc.

   

Captain Peter Warren
Director (Honorary) Whaling and Marine - Advisory Board Member
In a true sense, a Captain of the Seas. A tradition from Father to Son when he was grabbed by the scuff of his neck by his Dad to join the fishing armada at the age of 15 and never looked back. He retired during 2007.This after 58 years at sea. A whaler for 12 years in the Antarctic, rock lobster and fish explorer in the Southern and Northern Oceans. He has an ocean of knowledge and memory that baffles many.

   

Alison Boezak
Director Whale Mark Call Center - Marketing of Arts & Crafts Nationally and International
Matriculated at Settlers High School, Cape Town 1998. Single. University of South Africa: Basics of Project Management. International and National experience in various marketing disciplines including hospitality. Quality Managerial experience in various Call Centers will certainly contribute to Whale Marks objectives. Passion towards Arts & Crafts. Oil painting artist including photography of environmental issues.

   

Deo-Lindie Carmel Lakay
Director - Entertainment
Currently studying Tourism Management at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She has a passion for marine life, especially dolphins .Deo-Lindie has been assisting Whale Mark on the road shows to expose the school kids to the Whales in our country.

   

Nicolene Botes
Director of Arts & Crafts, responsible for the 10 Arts & Crafts workshops including special needs workshops for the underprivileged
Studied at the Tygerberg Arts School she gained valuable experience. Her passion and insight for unique product lines is the core of export for the Tourism Sector. Especially her ability to work for the poor will be the Road Map of Whale Marks Skills Development Projects. Very much talented we look forward to the outcome of her desire and passion. Besides this, Nicolene has the ability to take charge of any component within the group with extinction to ensure objectives are met on time.

   

Carlo Antonio Lakay
Director - Legal
Studied at UCT and achieved his BA Degree in Italian and BA Degree in Philosophy. He continued to do his law degree at University of Western Cape .Has to complete one year to achieve his Law Degree.Carlo has good leadership skills and applies himself whole heartedly at all times. Carlo has been assisting Whale Mark with their Marine reporting.

   

Marlon Lakay
Director - Photography
Studied Marketing Management at Northlink College. Manager of Tokai Outdoor Power Branch.Marlon is a peoples person and mixes easily with people of any race, colour or creed. Marlon has assisted Whale Mark with photography.

Chairman - African Affairs
Cosmos has an Honors Degree in Agriculture. He also has a Post Graduate High Diploma in Education, majoring in Chemistry and Biology. From the University of England he has a High diploma in Animal Biology, majoring in Animal Species, Animal Psychology, Animal Sociology and Animal Instincts. Some of his hobbies are music sports, exploration and adventure.
   

Selina Botes

Completed Human Resources Management courses at various educational institutions. Manager of Resonance Willowbridge, Tyger Valley Branch and Internet Sales for international market. In addition, human resources advisor to company. Personal attribute: A very good listener before she makes a decision. Team player, though work ethics are most important to her and also advisor to Whale Mark on human resources issues.
   

Melanie Botes
Director - Marketing Strategist
Matriculated at Tygerberg High School. Degree in Marketing and various other qualifications. For many years Whale Marks silent marketing advisor. Has a zest of identifying new business opportunities, valuations, shortcomings and future economical cutting edge conservation/education concepts. Travels extensively throughout South Africa to present the company she works for in new business opportunities and business plan specialist.
